EverlifeKey Launches to Help People Protect and Pass On the Digital Life They Leave Behind

DELAWARE, United States — What happens to your photos if you are suddenly gone? Who gets your passwords, important accounts, private messages, family videos and documents stored all over different cloud systems ?

For many people, there is no clear answer.

As everyday life increasingly moves online, planning for what happens to a person’s digital life can be complicated. Digital information may be spread across smartphones, computers, cloud storage, social networks, email accounts, password managers and numerous other platforms.

Everlifekey was created to provide a centralized approach to organizing and planning for that digital legacy.

Founded by Jeff Solich and Peter Trang, Everlifekey is a Delaware-based digital legacy planning platform designed to help individuals and families securely organize and protect digital assets.

EverLife Key was built around a “built for our own families” origin story — the core motivation was making sure important digital assets, accounts, and messages don’t get lost or become inaccessible to loved ones when something happens, since neither Big Tech legacy-contact tools (Apple, Facebook/Meta, Google) nor financial institutions solve that in a comprehensive, platform-agnostic way

The founders identified a need for a broader solution that could allow people to determine what happens to their digital information, who should receive it and under what circumstances it should become available.

A Centralized Approach to Digital Legacy Planning

With Everlifekey, users can create a secure digital “Safe” for important information and memories, including photos, passwords, accounts, documents and personal messages. Users can designate recipients and establish conditions under which the information should be released.

Those conditions may include a person’s passing or a defined period of inactivity when the individual can no longer access or manage their digital life themselves.

The platform is designed around the idea that digital legacy planning extends beyond simply storing passwords. Digital lives can include years of photographs, videos, correspondence, documents, account information and other personal content that may hold significance for family members and other designated recipients.

“Estate plans have evolved to protect the things we own, but our lives have become increasingly digital,” said Jeff Solich and Peter Trang, co-founders of Everlifekey. “We built Everlifekey because we couldn’t find a simple way to make sure the digital things that matter to us would reach the right people if we weren’t here to do it ourselves.”

Beyond Individual Platforms

Apple, Google and Facebook offer certain legacy-related features, but these tools are connected to individual platforms. Everlifekey is designed to provide a digital legacy planning solution that can exist independently of any single technology platform.

By bringing important digital information and memories into one secure environment, the platform gives users a way to organize their digital legacy and establish instructions for access.

Everlifekey is also exploring partnerships with estate attorneys, financial advisors and other professionals who may incorporate digital legacy planning into broader estate planning processes.

Planning for an Increasingly Digital Life

Digital legacy planning is not limited to one generation. People accumulate digital information throughout their lives through smartphones, social media, online accounts, cloud storage and subscription services.

Over time, these digital footprints can become extensive collections of personal information, memories and relationships. Yet many people have not established clear instructions for what should happen to that information if they are no longer able to manage it themselves.

Everlifekey aims to give individuals and families a way to address that part of their lives by organizing important digital information, identifying intended recipients and establishing conditions for its release.
