Levi’s launches premium Lot-1 ‘Made to Order’ service with £650 jeans

Levi’s has launched a new ‘Made to Order’ service at its ‘Soho Atelier’ at 40 Great Marlborough Street in London’s Soho, with jeans priced at £650, or £950 for ‘bespoke’.

The new offering provides a “personalised one-to-one tailoring experience”, allowing customers to choose from a curated selection of premium selvedge denims, finishes and hardware before working with a Levi’s artisan to create their preferred fit and silhouette.

It’s not only restricted to jeans, also including bespoke chinos from £995, bespoke skirts from £650, and bespoke jackets from £1,255, raising the benchmark for newly made garments compared to still highly sought-after original made-in-USA vintage Levi’s finds.

The Lot-1 name, first reintroduced in 2013, apparently references the original lot numbering system introduced by Levi Strauss & Co. in the late 19th century, now representing the brand’s “most premium expression of craftsmanship today”.

The premium selvedge denim is sourced from some of the world’s most respected mills, including Kaihara, Collect (Japan) and Cone Mills (United States).

Customers can personalise their jeans, selecting from a range of denims in different weights and colours, as well as finishing details including thread colour (25 choices), rivets, buttons and leather back patches, including a vegan ‘leather’ option.

Back pocket styles reference historic 501 models and there are cinch-back buckle styles and side adjusters for “deeper customisation”.

Levi’s fans can even create their own leg silhouette, ranging from wide to slim, bootcut or classic straight, and a Lot-1 tailor will expertly shape the fit to their precise specifications using a universal Levi’s fitting model.

Levi’s Lot-1 made-to-order and bespoke garments are each hand-finished and constructed entirely on site in the Soho store. Both services are available by appointment only, with lead times of approximately 4-6 weeks for made to order and 12-14 weeks for bespoke.
