Tehran – In an extraordinary declaration that has garnered global attention, an Iranian Army commander recently boasted that their army now possessed “ultra-secret, AI-powered” technology capable of neutralizing any enemy threat with devastating accuracy. These statements come at a time of rising regional tensions and increased focus on artificial intelligence use in modern warfare.

At a military ceremony held on Sunday, Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari, Commander of Iran’s Army Ground Forces, declared that their latest arsenal included AI-integrated weapons so advanced that hostile forces “would have no chance of survival” should an encounter occur.

“Our ultra-secret weapons equipped with artificial intelligence are more than deterrents; they’re game changers,” noted Gen. Heydari. They enable the Iranian Armed Forces to detect, track, and eliminate threats in real time-even during complex battle scenarios.

Though details regarding these new AI-driven systems were not provided by the commander, his comments sent a strong signal to both regional adversaries and global powers alike. Iranian officials have previously indicated their military production through advanced technologies like robotics, drone warfare and AI enhanced surveillance is on an increase domestically.

Defense analysts agree such allegations, though unverifiable, demonstrate Iran’s increased focus on asymmetric and technological warfare due to international sanctions limiting conventional military forces. Their use is seen as part of Tehran’s strategy for maintaining deterrence without disclosing operational details.

“This rhetoric aligns with Iran’s efforts to demonstrate self-sufficiency and technological innovation in its defense sector,” according to Dr. Amir Rahmati, an Middle East security expert. However, without independent verification these statements remain mostly psychological warfare.

This announcement came against a backdrop of rising tensions in the Persian Gulf, including naval encounters and geopolitical strains over nuclear negotiations and regional influence. Iran has repeatedly accused Western and Israeli forces of fomenting instability, while their adversaries have voiced concern over Iranian military advances.

General Heydari concluded his remarks by issuing a warning: “Any enemy that dares test the power of the Islamic Republic will face swift, intelligent, and lethal retaliation.

International observers remain wary of Iran’s claims about AI military systems; nonetheless, many agree that AI integration in modern warfare systems represents a dramatic and potentially lethal new chapter – one where speed, automation and secrecy can rapidly alter conflict outcomes in an instant.
