The Handbag Clinic is returning to Selfridges Birmingham Bullring this October for a three-month residency, following a series of successful pop-ups in the city over the past 18 months.
It comes off the back of its 10-day pop-up at Selfridges Manchester Trafford last month, which ran from 18-27 September.
Taking over a dedicated space on the fourth floor, The Handbag Clinic will offer shoppers across Birmingham and the wider region access to sought-after pre-owned pieces from luxury names including Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Mulberry, alongside its specialist repair and restoration services.
Customers will be able to have handbags professionally authenticated, discuss repair and restoration requirements directly with The Handbag Clinic’s experts, and receive repair quotations in person.
The residency will also give shoppers the opportunity to exchange unwanted designer handbags for a Selfridges voucher, providing a convenient route to give pre-loved pieces a new life while “unlocking value towards a future purchase”.
Charlotte Staerck, founder and CEO of The Handbag Clinic, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be returning to Birmingham for a three-month residency. The response we’ve seen from Birmingham customers over the past 18 months has shown us that there is a real appetite for a more circular approach to luxury, and this residency gives us the opportunity to build on that relationship.
“Our partnership with Selfridges is particularly valuable because it allows customers to engage with luxury in different ways – whether that’s discovering a pre-loved piece, restoring a much-loved handbag or giving an unwanted item a second life.
“Circularity shouldn’t mean compromising on the excitement, desirability or experience of luxury, and that’s what we want to demonstrate in Birmingham.”
The growing popularity of The Handbag Clinic, which has a permanent in-store concession within Selfridges’ Oxford Street flagship in London, reflects the growing convergence of resale, repair and reuse with traditional luxury retail.
